I don't watch that much but on the small bits, I thought I'd noticed the same too, the addict.
I seem to remember somewhere (but might be making it up?) that they were now being coached by Cayre/someone at the NTC - i.e. they were now deemed high enough to warrant 'special' coaching status.
Which would make sense - and might explain it - although is a little a*rse about face (you have to have succeeded already to get the coaching, which is really tough, whereas if you'd had the coaching earlier you'd have succeeded a lot better and quicker).

But, again, I might be mis-remembering .....
I think you're referring to as top 100 doubles players they are eligible for the LTA's doubles programme which provides access to a supervised programme with a LTA Performance Advisor.
Not that bad. If you'd had said two years ago that Lissey/Liv would be in a WTA 500 QF I'd have laughed - well done - new CHs
I know what you mean, and a QF is itself quite an acheivement. But it was one of those days when things just didn't work out. For example they were 0/6 on BP - their opponents were 5/8 and although I wasn't really expecting them to win the scoreline could have been a lot closer.
