Friedsamm playing quite well again, settled quite far behind the baseline, but Emma's approaches aren't great and she keeps getting lobbed.

Very disappointing loss for Emma . The first set was dreadful stuff really blowing so many chances to win that and even though she upped her game in the second set should never have been playing a third set .

She has blown another chance to get those elusive 3 wins in a row given her draw .

In windy conditions Emma's 2nd serve looks rubbish; not just the dfs but barely any good 2nd serves that trouble her opponent, too many that land alarmingly short.

She played with more variety than she often does, quite a few drop shots, some good, some that failed to make it over the net including one on bp for a double break lead in the first set, volleys could have been better, a couple of costly backhand slice errors on set point.

Just not coming together for Emma. I guess we have to be glad that she at least came through the first round and got a win.
