Decent win against unpredictable opponent, who s now lost her last 16 sets. Quite liked the commentator who made some good points I thought. Hope thats boosted Julia s spirits a bit btw, ha.

HaHa, yes, thank you. Retirements always a bit of anti climax but at least we have another match to look forward to, and I still have one more bottle of wine for Wednesday LOL
Yastrzemska has lost 9 of her last 11 matches and Emma has at least won some first/second round matches. Im not convinced she will win but lets not pretend it isnt a good draw. It definitely is.

Yastremska has actually lost 11 out of her last 13 matches. Since Yastremska came back from her drug suspension in July last year there are only 3 tournaments in which she has won more than 2 matches. Emma should be full of confidence with this draw.

I am in total disagreement about that approach to Emma, she should be told here is a feisty player, nearly in top 20 , capable of beating anybody at the top of their game, therefore I don't expect you to win, so if you give it your best shot you might be in with a chance etc
Well I think my comment was correct. When Yastremska recovers from her wrist injury she should move from tennis to cricket or golf like Ash Barty. Her game would seem more suited to those sports.
So Harriet did get an LL after all and is playing Martincova later this morning. (Sorry if that has been announced already). Great news and a fair chance of a win if she's on her game.

Watched the match on replay. Raducanu played well, doing enough to instil doubt into Yastremska's game which duly unravelled. Yastremska plays some ferocious tennis, always trying to dictate on every shot. It is a high risk strategy, and against an opponent who is quick on the court and able to compete physically, the gung-ho approach is likely to come unstuck. The injury would seem to be a likely consequence of continuous hard hitting.
