Week 37 - WTA250 - Zavarovalnica Sava Portoroz, Slovenia Hard

Yes - very good tie-break - played on the front foot - coped well with the aggrevation of her ace being called a let by serving a quasi-ace - kept her nerve on the important point at 4-1 (I always think it's important - if you can - to win the point just before you change ends, it's a long walk, it's nice to be on the up as you do so)

Good result

Jodie wins the tie break in the 3rd. This was a game she would have lost at the start of the year.

Completely agree; we could sit here and say that Jodie should have tidied this up much earlier; but I think winning in this fashion should giver her a greater depth of confidence

Q2: DART, Harriet (GBR) (1) 85 (CH=84 2022) lost to FRIEDSAM, Anna-Lena (GER) (11) 201 1-6 6-7(7)
Q2: BURRAGE, Jodie (GBR) (6) 151 def VOEGELE, Stefanie (SUI) (12) 218 6-4 4-6 7-6(1)

Jodie reversing the result of their previous meeting when Stefanie won the 3rd set tiebreak.

None of the main draw slots are against a seed so that looks encouraging for Jodie.

Great to see the continuing attitude and fight from Jodie in third sets.

She has won 5 and lost 3 third sets in her 8 third sets since Eastbourne and been competitive even in defeat.

In her previous 18 third sets dating back to March 2021 she only won 2 and lost 16. Many just drifted decisively away with a poor attitude.

Keep it up

Possibly a lucky loser as Pera has withdrawn? Never know the rules with this or if this has already been accounted for.

It will depend on when the LL spot became available. If it was after qualifying was completed, it goes to Harriet automatically. If it was before qualifying was completed then Harriet has a 50/50 chance of getting it.

The man draw is out, and Jodie gets Krunic

Harriet is not in the draw. The official PDF shows a LL is required, but hasn't been updated yet so not sure who has got it without looking through the results

Edit:- Voegele got the LL spot

Well, is anyone else excited to be seeing Emma tonight, on a proper stream ( as opposed to last year)? I must admit, i've had a hard few days and I have the wine out now and just chilling before her match LOL what a treat to look forward to.

(I was not referring to US open but her run up to it on  variable streams)
