A brilliant achievement

Lots of tape on shoulder, forearm, etc - and obviously mega issues with health/the conditions/Lord knows what - but she's smiling at the end, at practically 3 am in the morning, having got just rewards for an amazing effort

Will be amazing if Katie has much left in the tank after this but a great achievement nonetheless.

Its jumping ahead but a title this week would take Katie top 100. unlikely I know, but stranger things have happened .

It evidently wouldn't now. Both live-tennis and OER show a best possible of WR 101 on Monday. I think she'd still take that!

Yes, and if 27 is prime age, we only have one player who is older than that in our 6, whereas China has three and Italy has three (one being 35)

Germany's is worse, with three players aged 35, 35, and 34

Ours are all bunched rather at the low end, but there's a lot of upside, given age

I'll be happy with Katie just being ranked high enough for a DA into a GS qualification at this point, she's been next in on atleast 2 occasions so just knowing she's in 4 weeks beforehand would be a win.

Apparently Katie got to bed around 5am. Fortunately her semi-final is scheduled for the last of the three matches today.

Those 3 games were hard work, she really was throwing everything at it to get ahead, and when she fell behind you could tell she knew she couldn't find a way back, a shame but a fabulous week.
