Q1: APPLETON, Emily (GBR) 1002 lost to HERRMANN, Sina (GER) (2) 442) 3-6 4-6

Emily was 2-5 down in the 2nd set with her opponent serving for the match. Emily broke serve, saved a match point in her next game and scored an ace on her 2nd serve, went 40-0 on her opponents next game, saved two more match points before finally losing at the 4th match point.

Pity. This second successive W60 SF will though take Emily into the doubles top 200 for the first time. Showing as live ranked 196. She will be GB #9, not too far behind #7 Beth and #8 Emily WS

I'd say our top 6 ranked doubles players are our best 6 if not necessarily in their ranking order of Lissey, Olivia, Sam, Tara, Harriet, Heather.
