Great match. Was so relieved to have something to watch that i could get absorbed in. My own mother died last week and I am up to my neck with funeral arrangements, and now our dear Queen has gone and I am so sorry but my capacity for emotional involvement is somewhat spent. My mother was 99 and I confess a slight sense of relief that she went first and was not to be disappointed in not getting a telegram from the dear lady.

Great response to being broken on the Colombian's first breakpoint in the final set at 5-5, after having had 6 bps of their own earlier on. Remarkably didn't lose a point on serve in the match tiebreak

Congratulations to Joe+ on yet another slam final. If my reading of the situation is right, Neal will have to take the title in order to usurp Joe as WR1.

HAHA, Neil said  he would not be thinking about the Number 1 at all, just the title.

We can't lose, but talk about divided loyalties...  no

Neal says he's talked to Joe and they're going to wear black armbands (or something similar)

 Nice thoughtful gesture.

So pleased that both have made it through to the final. May the better pair win!

Doesn't it make you wish so much that doubles players got the same adulation and praise as singles players. To have two British men going head to head across the net for a Grand Slam doubles trophy and the no 1 ranking up for grabs for one of them to take from the other. Full of praise for the dedication and hard work these guys put in to reach the top. I can't even begin to think who I wish to see triumph in the final. Too big a choice. We will wait and see the outcome. But what another proud moment for British Tennis.

Great for Joe and Neal. Well done!  And great indeed to have Brits on either side of the net battling for a Slam title and with it WR 1.

I personally do reserve most of my praise and adulation and bias for say PoM and PoY for singles players as the top singles players and big singles progress are the ultimate for me. It's not the same.

But as is fairly clear I still certainly follow doubles, admire the achievers there and it can be a great watch.
