Week 35/36 US Open New York Hard

Works so hard to get back level and hits 2 errors to start the game, pulls out an ace and a nice winner off the short ball to get back to *30-30. Another good point finished with a drive volley for her first game point of the set ...

Holds!

4-3*

That last rally was a cracker too. Did very well to control that final volley.

Kasatkina cannot cope with this wind picking up. A 9th double fault gives Harriet two break points. And she will serve for it.

*5-3

15-0 (bad forehand error from Kasatkina long)
15-15 (forehand winner)
15-30 (good return, backhand winner)
15-40 (good serve but Kasatkina goes on the attack, big backhand winner)
30-40 (return wide)
Deuce (Kasatkina thought she'd won the point, but great defence then a screamer forehand down the line from out wide)
Adv Dart (big return but Harriet gets her racket to it, lands at an advancing Kasatkina's feet and she nets)

Yes!!!! Big return again but Harriet digs in, she's the one to pull the trigger and seals it with a winner.

Wow. Absolutely never expected it. Thought it was done. Incredible, what a win. Huge!!

Amazing! Well done Harriet, a joy to watch, even with my hands over my mouth as the end there.

My favourite part was that in true Harriet fashion she even managed to argue with the automatic line calls

So much determination, and a great shot at R3 now :D

Really gutsy. She went for her shots when it was very windy there. Risky but she was never going to win by playing safe. It unsettled Kasatkina and ultimately got her the win. Well done!

That was such an incredible finish from Harriet. Missed most of the match, but joined at 3-3 0-30 final set, and it she was magnificent given the circumstances. Huge congratulations
