Weeks 35 & 36 - US Open, Flushing Meadows, New York City (hard)

Broken. Berretini will serve for the match.

This has came from nothing, Andy looked dead and out last set but in this set hes been in control. From nothing he is about to go out.

4-6 4-6 7-6 3-5*

All over, what a strange match. Andy threw that away in the last set. Hes going to be very disappointed with that. Given the draw I think thats the best chance he wlll have of making a long run in a Slam.

Be interesting to see what his plans for the autumn are. Will he be interested in chasing a top 32 spot for a seeding next year? Will he even carry on next year? Who knows.

Thought Andy was back in it but then a poor game to gift the match to Berrettini.
I was gearing up for a final set shootout.

Bitterly disappointing for Jack to have to retire .

Without the injury he looked good to get the win . A real shame but he has a great future ahead of him .

What a sad way for that to end. Really thought Jack was going to take that match. Al we can do now is wish him a speedy recovery, but I doubt that will be much consolation for him.

NOooo. Blame me for building him up on here earlier.

A shame but better to be alright and it's still all positive and upward for Jack.

Jack's body still getting used to Grand Slams and best of 5 set matches I suppose. Hope he's back in action soon.
