Week 34 US Open Qualifying

Didn't see it but, from the score, Hev made that first set look easy - 6-1

More of that, please

*3-0 second set. Good clean hitting, Melnikova very poor.

6-1 6-0

Demolished an undercooked opponent. Hopefully gives her some confidence for the next round. Well done!

Katie had landed quite a few aggressive shots. 6-2

Would like to see Hev qualify and then break her duck of never reaching the 2nd round of the slam she won as a junior.

Ferro dfs helping Katie to *3-0.

Boulter's first serve percentage under 50% but barely seems to matter as she moves to 4-0 in the 2nd set. There was a Raducanu style slice serve ace on a 2nd serve in that service game.

Ferro is in terrible form. 2 more dfs as she is broken again for *5-0

Made a meal of it at the end but got over the line. Ferro has really sunk since the injuries.

Big strapping on Sonay's right arm, hope it doesn't cause her problems.

Surprised that first set ended. Whoever happened to be in the lead, then played rubbish for the next few points, while the losing player found their form for a few mins. BR took it on the tiebreak 7-5, having made a careless error long on an earlier set point when serving for the set. From memory, Sonay had 2 bps at 4-3*

Yes, it was like MR saying 'please, you have it' and Sonay 'no, that's very kind but you have it'
