If Marni can stay fit she will easily get into the top 100. You might not be able to see this from live stream but her ball striking is superior to most of the girls out there. It seems like her opponents are just not playing that well however I think they struggle with the constant pace of the ball that comes through the court. She serves very well but it seems like she relies on her serve a little too much. She used to be an incredible athlete however I dont see this as much recently maybe due to the injuries she has had but Im hoping she gives this sport a good go and sees what she could achieve. A friend of mine many years ago watched her play Emma in the previously mentioned match when they were both 13 y o and predicted that they would both be the British number 1 & 2. Hes considered a bit of a genius around the aldershot area as he has been banging on about Emma for years but if Marni also came through then ill be asking him to do my lottery numbers.
Does anybody if spectators are allowed to turn up and watch the finals tomorrow?
Unless there is some major security/covid/special circumstance, then ITFs are public events - the public have been allowed all week
I haven't been to this one but went to the previous Roehampton event back in June - no problem - you walk straight in, it's free, and they gave us an armband (just so we could go into the BoE bit alongside and back, as the men were there and the women were on the NTC hard courts). You can use the restaurant, the toilets, even have a look inside at the inside courts (or, at least, we did - no idea if you're meant to or not but as we were doing no harm....) basically you can mooch around as much as you want, really

Thank you very much for that you have been more than helpful. Can I ask what is the BoE?
Sorry, the BoE is the Bank of England grounds next door - the grass courts they use for the Wimbly qualis - but I shouldn't call it the BoE any more - it was sold a couple of years ago - my fault - I'm just not too sure what to call it now - it has some 'Social Leisure Centre' sort of name that seems completely unfitting (to me) and I can never remember it.
But it's a bit of a red herring - I don't think there will be any need for them to give you access to that bit - there's just the actual final tomorrow, no? So it'll be on the hardcourt in the NTC. So I wouldn't have thought armbands would be necessary (but maybe....)
Honestly, the NTC is a lovely place to go for a day's tennis - it feels like the South of France - very swish, lots of pine trees, flowers, insects, great viewing, new little tribunes put in (but low key ones, just a few banks of wooden benches, nothing too posh, it's nice), plastic chairs hanging around too (or there was mid-week), decent shade (if you need it), you're very close to a lot of players you know, and coaches, and players who aren't playing but just supporting, or juniors filing past for coaching sessions, basically lots of look at, and the lunch was very good (although not dead cheap - but nothing to stop you taking your own sandwiches if you want - there are outside tables, if you'd feel uncomfortable eating them inside and don't want to eat them at the bench)

How can you not remember Wimbledon Qualifying and Community Sports Centre, Roehampton? I mean it just rolls off the tounge.
Yeah, the person who has difficult remembering how old they are - was out by a year yesterday and thought that was a result - and I'm supposed to remember 'Community Sports Centre, Roehampton' for an old stately pile with grass courts - can't see that happening

I would like to think CD and I would be similarly acknowledged in out local communities if and when Marni joins Emma near the top of the game Though I kind of doubt it in my community at least and quite a few folk may have just mentioned Emma over the years.
Well done again, Marni.
