Em and Ingrid 1-6 3-2*

Waltert is playing well. Everyone else? Not so much.

We will still have British interest here into Friday.

L16:- Ingrid Gamarra Martins (BRA) / Emily Webley-Smith (GBR) CR399 (192+207) beat Tessah Andrianjafitrimo (FRA)/ Simona Waltert (SUI) CR1482 (1048+434) by 1-6 6-3 [10-7]

The 25 (net11) points that Emily has so far added by reaching the QF have her up to live 190 on live-tennis and certain to be back in the top 200 on Monday.

Got better as it went on. MTB was actually pretty comfortable, they were always a few points in front.

Tough match next!

Em and Ingrid recover from a break down and two set points down at *4-5 to take the first set 7-5.

I loved Ken's description of Em. smile Kind of true as well.

Well beaten in the second set but then a very close MTB.

I was watching the ITF stream, so no commentary - I'm curious now.

I thought the overall standard was so much lower than Lissey and Liv's final last week, and wasn't very impressed by the level of Chang and Danilina given their rankings.

Says she plays good doubles but just throws in some daft shots.

Danilina as a Grand Slam finalist is still mad to me. But then she had a very good partner!

They did well to get the MTB back to *8-8, it really was, as Ken said multiple times - "a coin flip". Shame, would have been a good scalp in an open field. But 85 points from 2 weeks not to be sniffed at.
