Jodie loses the tiebreak 7-2. Shame she couldn't steal the set when she had the chance but I didn't see the set point so may well have been out of her hands.

She went line too early. Which led to an Old Jodie shouty moment, which kind of set up her attitude during the tie break.

And she closed out that second set very nicely

I think Jodie is returning beautifully today. If she can keep the emotions in check, she should win.

Poor Zhu has played tournaments in 9 of the last 11 weeks, as far as I can tell. Seems a bit rough.

She did really well to hold form after being broken at *4-3. No histrionics or sloppy errors. Just dug in.

Hope she can keep playing well in this final set.

Zhu holds after multiple deuces. One break point missed. Very good tennis from both just now.*0-1

Ach that's a shame. She really did have a lot of chances early in the third. Disappointing not to build on last week but it was a slightly unfortunate draw.

Lily hasn't had a win since Saville at Eastbourne which is quite concerning with US Open qualifying on the horizon.

Lily has covered her points off Jun-Aug  Her main problem is that she swapped to GBR near her CH which she is still near(currently 199).  To maintain that level 25K tournaments are not enough, so you are forced into 60K, 80K and 100K. At those levels a huge amount depends on who you meet in R1. So it's very much hit or miss.

The higher up the greasy pole you go the slippier it gets.
