Into the Top 400 but progress has slowed this year.
I think it's a bit of a shame she didn't spend any of this year in the UK. Grass may not be her preferred surface but I do think players benefit from the support they get from all being together and from the British crowds. AFAIK she hasn't played here at all this year despite the LTA putting on a few iTF25s in addition to the grass court tournaments. Jodie, for instance, Ryan, and others do seem to have benefited this year.
I guess they do have a strategy which has got to where she is, though.

Matilda seems to play a run of say 4 or 5 tournaments on hard courts and then 4 or 5 on clay. Since December 2020 she has played 21 tournaments on hard courts, 15 on clay, 2 on grass and 1 on carpet.
