I noticed that . Seems odd . Im assuming she won that tournament in Lexington too late ? Maybe she has a WC ? As unlikely as that might be .
As discussed elsewhere, Katie's Lexington title was indeed too late to effect her entry ranking. But at entry WR 234, going by previous rates of withdrawals between the list coming out and withdrawals, there did look a chance that she might in the end sneak in.
There don't though seem to have been many withdrawals so far and with a week to go she's maybe just decided to pull out and move on or has some other issue given she's not been seen since Lexington.
Jam Choinski should be back in the top 500 next few weeks using his PR would only need 3 or 4 wins in his chosen tournaments. The 20/500 will be on the edge by end of September. Its going to happen by year end Im sure and a Brit to win Aldershot and Roehampton could seal it as well. Jan, Arthur, Johannus and Oscar look the likely 4. And theres always Kyle and JPJ as backups.
Not sure I agree with Jack playing so close to the US Open but then again if he doesnt play he has a long spell of not playing before .
I really hope he gets a good draw .
Perhaps hope for a good draw 1st round then a bad draw 2nd round to knock him out, so giving him time to prepare and move to NY.
Now that the wild cards are all allocated in Winston Salem (Korda has got one), Jack is 15th seed likely. It is a 48 draw so the top 16 get a bye, so the plan above wont work! Jack will be in still in Round 2 for sure with the bye, so probably around and playing to Wednesday at least if he wins his opening match - I think the final will be Saturday (guessing - US Open play opens Sunday I think?) so last 16 would be Wednesday.
I am a firm believer of doing as well as possible in the event you are in, careers are too short to throw a match and look to the next event, the slam. Jack, IMO, should do as well here as he can, try and win the thing if he can, and then deal with the US Open in due course - if it means he is tired so be it, but he is young, he didnt play this week, so he should be fine.
