(apologies if you can't make sense of the above, agg = aggressive, dtl = down the line, unret = unreturned serve, ue = unforced error)

I didn't watch the first set. Looked like Peyton Stearns' level dropped somewhat as the 2nd set developed. Jodie played well in patches, her return of serve could have been a lot more consistent; it was awful in the early games in the 2nd set. There was a df from Jodie where she hit a very fast 2nd serve down the T but missed narrowly; I thought she should do that more often (with better accuracy) as Peyton seemed to find it relatively easy to punish Jodie's regular 2nd serve. The breaks of the Burrage serve that I saw, typically involved a lot of 2nd serves.

Fabulous! Well done both! It'll be a really interesting final. I'm going with Katie in 2 close sets.

Jodie had a great grass court season but i'd like Katie to win this one, she needs it more at the moment.

Yeah, absolutely - she used to be 350 or so, a year ago, when she was 19..... I presume she's at college?

Anyway, first set gone...... time for Jodie to start afresh ....

She was at Texas, finishing the season at #1 in the ITA rankings, but has decided to go pro after winning the NCAA singles title.

Given they are the same age, surprised the two have never played in pros or juniors - unless the ITF site is telling me porkies!

Great turn around from Jodie.

I was very worried at the start of the second but clearly Jodies level improved and Payton dropped.

Excited for the final.

A nice problem to have, choosing which of the 2 you want to win. On this occasion I'm swaying more towards Jodie as she might move high enough to be seeded in qualies. Poor Katie though. 234 should be enough for qualies but she's alt17

Think the final is more important for Jodie as it continues her sudden improvement. Great to see them both in the final though

W100 finals are often stepping stones on the way to top 100 rankings, so this is very encouraging. I look forward to seeing them advancing further.

Possibly true - but it is a W60 final this one, I believe (according to the thread headline?!)

Yes, it was the Polish event that was W100. It's still true however of all W50 and higher events. Anyone who achieves that has the ability to amass the points necessary for top 100.

Lovely to see both in the final. Both are in the Landisville W100 next week and Jodie is in the Vanvouver W125 the following week

whilst Katie is an Alt for the Bronx W60

Warming up in the sunshine.
