Jodie 5-0 up but very dark out there - don't know how long they'll go on.

Second set 6-0 - still casing a shadow.

Jodie dominated the two sets I saw - wins 6-7 6-0 6-1.  Didn't see the first so I can't say what went wrong.

But biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Hope they will get some points eventually.

Odd that Steven is quoting Tennis on tellly who believes that it was Jodie and Eden who gave the walkover.

ITF Rulebook
"4. Walkovers
a) If a player or team receives a walkover in the 1st round, and there is no Alternate or Lucky Loser to take the place in the draw, or if a player or team receives a walkover in a subsequent round without having yet played a match, the player or team will receive ranking points from the round preceding her/their elimination."

Seems slightly odd to me, but I interpret that as meaning that if they lose in the semifnal they will get points for the quarterfinal not the semi.

I thought I'd have a quick look at how Jodie was doing but the match which is supposed to be her on the ITF livestream is showing some doubles players warming up whilst apparently displaying Jodie's score score. Very strange!

I'm sure we've had this before but I can't remember who it was. At the risk of being completely and utterly wrong, I think whoever it was got 1st round loser points. The basis being that in each round you progress by walkover without having played you only have 1st round loser points until you win a match, therefore the points they have in the preceding round will always be 1st round loser points no matter how many rounds they progress by wo without having played. They don't get the additional points for progressing a round by walkover unless they have played and won a match.

Light rain in Lexington, with heavy thunderstorms forecast for Friday and Saturday. Sunday should be fine.
