Not a case of taking pity on Toby. I thought that he deserved my vote for winning a tournament from being a WC. Sorry, will try to vote for somebody more deserving next time (am new to this)

Hi Johnny - firstly, welcome to the board!! I think Emmsie was just joshing, don't take it the wrong way. Any vote or player in Player of the Month is deserving! So thank you for voting for Toby, he had a great win in Roehampton the other week and is a real prospect it seems.

Don't get put off and thanks for finding this thread before the 5 pm cut off for votes, you helped us reach the 30 (we usually get 35-40 but this seems to be have been a slow month!).

Next vote will go up towards end August - I will post a nominations thread for people to put nominations forwards as the month progresses, so please feel free to contribute when you see someone who is worthy!

Hope you vote next month!

Ha ha, yes, welcome Johnny, and indeed all are I guess* deserving of votes if anyone wants to vote for them as their PoM. And many forum comments should not be taken at face value

* I admit I have personally on occasions thought "what!!?" though not about Toby this month.

Good on you, Jonny H !

You vote for whoever you fancy

They're all deserving - that's the point

And Toby did brilliantly to come out of nowhere, unranked or practically so, and win a 25k - kudos to the guy

Sorry I forgot to vote - fwiw would have voted Cam so no change to the result. Yes the draw opened up but you can only beat who is in front of you and a first Grand Slam SF is a fantastic achievement.

2nd would have gone to Heather who got completely inspired from almost nowhere by reaching the last 16 - just wish she could replicate that elsewhere.

No need to apologise for anything. You vote for whoever you think is deserving in YOUR opinion. The beauty of this board is the wide variety of opinions that exist here. We look forward to adding your opinion to that spectrum.  Welcome to the board.
