July 2022 Player of the Month Vote

We know the process. Just one group this month , winner is the player with most votes.

poll will close at 5 pm Monday.

lets see how a Sunday pm poll goes for voting pattern and numbers

1. Katie Boulter - Beat last year's RU and WR 7, Karolina Pliskova, in this year's R2 to reach a Slam R3 for the first time.

2. Liam Broady - Wild card wins through to at least the third round at Wimbledon with a win over the WR 15 Diego Schwartzman. And he supports Man City.

3. Heather Watson - for each of the 4th round of Wimbledon and her first grand slam second week.

4. Cam Norrie - reached Wimbledon SF for his first slam semifinal and shattering his seeding expectation, beating Andujar, Munar, Johnson, Paul and Goffin (in 5 epic sets) and taking Djokovic to 4 sets

5. Neal Skupski - Wimbledon Mixed Doubles title winner for the 2nd year in a row.

6. Alfie Hewett - Reached Wimbledon Men's Singles Final in the Wheelchair event; his first Wimbledon singles final coming from 5-1 down and a set, in 3 hours 20.

7. Toby Samuel - Aged 19, Won the Roehampton M25 having received a WC for Entry. His first ITF tournament win in singles

8. Lloyd Glasspool - Partnering Harri Heliövaara, he followed Wimbledon doubles L16 with the ATP Hamburg 500 doubles title, beating 3 seeds along the way with combined rankings of 11, 26 & 44 respectively plus RU in ATP Umag 250.

9. Kyle Edmund - just for being fit enough to compete. So great to see him back on court.

10. Maia Lumsden - for a cracking comeback from long Covid and battling so well against a top 200 player - runner-up in Notts 25k

11. Arthur Féry - for winning the Notts 25k, even though unseeded and at college and still age 20, and playing excellent grass court tennis

12. Billy Harris - for winning his first ever Challenger title in the doubles at Winnipeg.

Many of these could get my vote. Neal and Lloyd stand out , Cam really stands out and really should win this IMO.

But Ive heard a phrase this past few weeks that goes youve got to see it to be it

What happened that day with the wheelchair tennis and Alfie on court one and the BBC transcended whether he won or lost.

Perhaps you had to see it but it got my vote !

I remembered I had considered nominating Ken Skupski and Dom Inglot in recognising their careers, but forgot. So let this be the recognition comment marking their retirements !

I thought I was going to vote Cam but when i saw the list I went for Katie Boulter purely because she has had such a torrid time of it for the last 3 years and beating last years R/U was a result I really didn't expect
