Week 31 - ITF W25 - Foxhills, Great Britain Hard

Marni Banks having withdrawn two days ago obviously implies that she injured/re-injured herself at Nottingham :::(((

Big congrats to Alice Gillan who defeated Talia - always a good chance - the bookmakers were a little over-optimistic for Talia who's had relatively little success in adult tennis since Birmingham

Nice win too for Lauryn, over a higher-ranked player

And ditto for Emma

Yes good to see Alice, Lauryn and Emma all qualifying when they weren't seeded to do so. All three in the 'past it' age group which a previous poster referred to so disparagingly!

Maia won the battle of the Scots and Alice is giving the 3rd seed some problems

I wonder what happened in the Freya Naiktha match. It says it should have started at 16.35. Some sites are saying it hasn't started yet but one of them shows freya going 4-0 up, losing her service to make it 4-1 and then nothing further.

Hadn't noticed anything wrong on the ITF site - the match is into the third set now.

When I look on the ITF site - schedule of matches, it just says it will be 4th on court 3, to be played, with no score.

The scores finally came up on the other sites. I can't get ITF live score to work, all I get is a line endlessly going round four sides of a square.

Nowhere did I say or imply that. Thanks for the opportunity of allowing me to join The forum however, I feel this will be my last post. Enjoy the tennis
