Emma finally starts playing some attacking tennis and takes the first set from 5-3 down in the tie-break taking it 7 points to 5 . Hopefully this wakes her up and she ditches the passive tennis she was playing for most of the first set.

PaulM, nicofrance - that's really funny - all three of us posted almost identical assessments - I'm sure emma's team have better things to do than look at this forum but, you know, maybe they're missing a trick
If this goes to 3 sets theres only one winner . Hard to believe Emma won the US Open , her tennis has gone backward and this mostly passive tennis is never going to do the job .
On the whole, a much better tiebreak from both. Better, more assertive hitting. Camila covering so much ground to keep the ball going, still getting deep into the corners and Emma really struggling to get the ball away, having to work very hard for each point.
Emma goes up 5-3*, balloons a second serve return long but is rewarded for some great defence of her own to get an error from Camila. 2 match points...
Superb second serve swinging out wide and the return is wide.
7-6(5) 7-6(4) in brutal conditions. An hour longer than it should have been but she won. Lovely embrace at the net too, I really like Camila.
Well, I thought Emma's tennis in the second set was better than in the first - she seemed to know more what she was supposed to be doing - even if there a few wobbles - there seemed to be an intention on the ball that wasn't really there in the first. It wasn't great but to get it done in two sets in the end, given it was hot etc, is not bad at all....
