Week 30 - ITF W25 - Nottingham, GB Hard

Not on livestream but Millie Rajecki v Jo Garland seems to be very tight - Millie just lost the tiebreak (7-6(5)) after serving for the set.

Jo G was very nearly beaten by Alicia D at Roehampton too - she's very fit but very 'playable'

Alicia had a decent set here but lost 6-3 - the other girl was just a bit better, and at the important moments

Maia took the first set off Naiktha, but Naiktha is a break up (haven't seen any of that match)

No Anna Brogan here, quite right as well. Bigger fish to fry away from British Tennis.

Anna was a  late withdrawal from this. She is still on the entry list for next week's Foxhills W25.

get with it Indy - as Jaggy says, shes working at the local fish and chip shop this week and couldnt get time off work.

Ha ha  biggrin

Anyway I hope that Jaggy has words with Anna if she gets time off next week and deigns to appear at Foxhills, especially as it looks quite a posh place, probably full of Tories

Maia defeated Naiktha in three sets - I think Naiktha has lost all of her recent three-set matches - seems to be a trend ....

Alicia's second set was far more straight forward and she lost 3 & 1

ADD: And the top seed is out, with an MTO in the second set, beaten by the Israeli player.

I certainly think that Maia retains better long term prospects and it is encouraging to see her get that win over Eden ( err Naiktha even ) right here right now.

Eden? Are you 'having a moment', Indy? (Or maybe it's me.....)

Millie Rajecki lost the second set 4-6 but seems to have fought hard and made it tricky for Jo

And, on a separate note, Freya has played a very nice set, over Eliz, to win it 6-2

But Eliz has a rather irritating habit (if you're the opponent) of hanging in and grinding out the second so .....

Looking at the scoring, Eliz double faulted at MP ( *5-3 Ad ).

Eliz now up 6-5*

Good stuff by irritating Eliz

Maia and Eliz were my preferences for the two all British ties.

The fifth seed took the second set in a tie break to level the match.
