New name to me... So here's a video from 2020 by the Australia Sports Foundation introducing her

And a long article

Great stuff, Lambda

Did you manage to work out how old she is? Is the article from 2020, hence 13 then and about 15 now?

About 50 miles north of Brisbane, on the Queensland Coast.

(Link to google maps on the ITF webpage for the tournament)

Interesting that she is still showing as British when it appears she has had financial support from Australia.

Yes. And there was no mention of any GB connection in the article. And there's no ITF sheet.

It's well possible that it's just a mistake and she's Australian - the ITF's flag thingy has been known to be wrong before

But as long as she's possibly GB, then go, Wambui !

(And even if she's Australian, all the best too smile)

I think she has lived in the UK, she sounds British

Some of the live scores systems show her as UK also but that might just be a feed from ITF?

It looks like she is from an indigenous background and Canberra, hard to see what British links she might have?

She is entered into next week's Australian event as British. It seems unlikely that the Australian organisations would repeat a mistake in nationality of someone apparently based in Australia so I suspect the GBR designation is genuine. There isn't an Australian event on the following week so we will have to wait and see if she travels to other events in August.
