Beth has a number of low counters, so reaching the QF here with 18 points (nett 15) will give her a new CH when the points go on.

but 9 points for reaching the QF and 18 points for reaching the SF.

Beth in a big battle today. Started well (4-0) got pegged back (4-5*), several breaks to 6-6 and lost the tie-break 8-6.
Early break in the second, so it is 3-1* after almost two hours.

Birrell is on a roll. She defeated the top seed ranked 177 yesterday and is now 5-4 in the second set having scraped the first.
