SF:  (14) Matthew Ebden & Max Purcell (AUS/AUS) CR 65 (31+34) defeated (1) Rajeev Ram (USA) & Joe Salisbury CR 3 (2+1) by 3-6 6-7(1) 7-6(9) 6-4 6-2  bleh

And it all started so well...  Joe & Rajeev failed to convert one of the five match points they held in that third set.  cry  Excellent match, though.  A good advert for the discipline.

What a match!
J and R will be rueing those missed MPs.
Let's hope at least Ebdon is a bit tired for the mixed final later!

I said earlier in this thread I fancied a British winning player. Not to be but a good effort

After a fabulous first semi, turns out the second semi was every bit it equal. First was 3 hr 59, second was 4 hr 22. 8 hours plus of tennis for the court one crowds today.

Doubles, when played well and competitively, can be a fabulous sport.

A good number of our mens pairs start their tournament today, good luck to them all.

I am going to predict a GB mens doubles champion. Not saying who, just think it will happen this year!

this proved to not age well!

Pavic playing the final with a broken right wrist so almost surely would have been Joe & Rajeev's title had they converted one of the match points.

Not so sure about that. It's currently one set all (both tie-breaks) and he seems to be playing ok - and is left-handed anyway.
