Week 25 - ITF W25 - Cantanhede, Portugal Carpet

I think Sugnaux didn't finish her singles until recently, which is why the delay. Just started their warm up.

Ingrid has only just completed her quarter final, saving a match point to win 6-4 in the third after over 3 hours. With the semi still to come, could be a very late start for the doubles (or they may end up holding it over to tomorrow I guess).

Ingrid lost her semi-final in three sets, but it was under two hours. Looks like the doubles final is about to start as there is a live-stream of an empty court !

Edit

Athough live scores now says 21:30 start

Seems a bit silly to do it tonight when there's no reason it couldn't be held tomorrow morning, given none of the four are involved in the singles final. Ingrid's already had 5 hours on court!

Not their night so far. A lot of very basic mistakes, their opponents incredibly steady.

2-6 *0-0

Second set was far better quality, but after bravely saving 5 championship points from 2-5* to get to a tiebreaker, they pretty much handed it away with 7 errors in a row. Ingrid struggled with her second shot throughout the match and a bad forehand miss off a short return at *1-3 basically ended their resistance.

A real shame after doing so well to drag themselves back into it not to quite get there in the second. Not the trophy they wanted, but a first final together is a good milestone. Wonder if they will try to continue playing for the season - I imagine Ingrid will want to head back to South America at some point!

They lose 6-2 7-6(1)
