My god the umpiring in that match. Hideous. Classic example of not paying attention. They got very lucky at *6-6 deuce not to have him cost them the set. Opponents went way long but umpire literally was not looking, didn't call it, everyone sort of half stopped and fortunately their opponent missed the smash to make it a tiebreak. Multiple missed calls on both sides, really shocking.
R2: WEBLEY-SMITH, Emily (GBR) Q 951 (CH=240 2011) v OZGEN, Pemra (TUR) (3) 310 (CH=182 2019)
They have played twice before with Pemra winning 3 & 5 in 2018 and Emily winning 3 & 4 in 2019
As mentioned elsewhere, Pemra Ozgen is the player Jodie Burrage has played most times in her career, she has a losing 1-5 record as well. Seems strange that her most played rival is Turkish, but there you go

Pemra has been around for a while, so plenty of chances for our girls to have played her. She is 36 and Emily 37.

Ha - She's been missing from my radar for the past 36 years then!!
Bit of classic ITF drama early. Looks like its the same (quite young) umpire who was struggling in their match on Tuesday (and has made quite a few mistakes in the other matches I've seen him on this week, mainly through not concentrating). After the first game Ingrid and Emily ask for the referee to come courtside, which he does. The umpire then manages to call the score wrong after two points and the referee has to intervene to correct it.
*3-0

The other semi final has been scheduled for today, but the quarter to determine Emily and Ingrid's opponents has yet to start. Long day for Ingrid potentially.
