I do wish Katie would come to the net more. I lost count of the points she could've finished off/won if she'd moved in. She doesn't really play doubles, which I think is a missed trick.

I agree, but unfortunately Marino got the second LL spot to play Heather.

As the lowest ranked of the 4 losers in the FQR, for Lily to have a chance of getting a LL spot, there would have to have been 3 spots available before qualifying had been completed (random from top [number of LL spots + 1] ranked players) or a 4th spot becoming available after qualifying had been completed (order of ranking) .

Really good display by Katie B yesterday. So much more positive than in her match against Halep. Tough next round but if she plays like yesterday and not like she did against Halep then she will give a good account of herself.

Also huge slice of luck for Heather and to draw another LL too!

Hev was up an early break but didn't consolidate it.

*4-5

Embarrassing tiebreak. Better level than yesterday but just folds at the crunch unfortunately. Zero confidence to back herself in these moments.

6-7(1)

Looks as though the BBC are just showing the main courts. Are the others being shown anywhere?

Some nice play from Jodie & growing in confidence with this step-up in level smile

When Jodie's serve and groundies are flowing, she looks like a top 100 player. Her forehand keeps misfiring today - mostly into the net, and she isn't getting many 1st serves in. Shame as if she was firing fully - I think she could take Martic, who isn't looking particularly impressive today.

Really strong passage of play from Jodie, cuts out the errors, applies good pressure and from 3-5* it's 7-5 and into a third.

3-6 3-5 and then Jodie starts firing! Some lovely backhands, and playing with controlled aggression - she claws back for the set, 7-5. Third set incoming
