Heather breaks for *4-3.

There have been as many breaks as holds though.

Jeezo. A very nervous Heather fails to take game points, including a horrendous double where her second serve barely makes the net. She finds a ludicrous hot shot to save break point, and holds.

5-3*

Misses the return on match point, nice forehand winner to save game point. Screamer of a forehand down the line for match point 2...

Yes! Well done Hev. Good crowd very happy!

4-6 6-3 6-3.

Watching Heather is hard going .

But at least shes likely to finish matches !

Am I the only one whose now finding the Raducanu injury soap opera now quite tiresome especially as she seems to be stinging out and not willing to pay for people who actually know what theyre doing .

As for all the endorsements , she needs to start concentrating on her tennis and not squeezing every last penny out of her US Open win.

I was kind of willing to give Emma a 2022 free pass.

I thought virtually anything could happen and quite a lot has. And I'm still kind of que sera sera.

I want her to do well and will in time start to reinvest more again and look for her pulling her tennis together and pushing forward again. So much talent there.

Im with you Indy, I didnt expect Emma to be anywhere higher than 50ish in the race this year. The US Open win was unbelievable fairytale stuff, but in reality it was a bit of a freak result well above par and a generous perhaps draw the way it opened up. She is still young and plenty of time to come back, still think she will be a top 50 player for many years to come. Just not entirely sure there will be many more Slam finals.

Absolutely, agree with both those comments. I'm really not particularly interested in Emma's results this year, certainly not while she plays when not fully fit. Want to see her healthy, strong and improving, whether that means going deep in draws or not at the moment I don't get much fussed about.

Ditto the three comments above

Also, I watched a fair bit of Alicia Dudeney's match - she lost 1 & 3 but the first set could easily have been 3-6 too
She put out some good tennis there
And Vekic showed a distinct lack of respect which really riles me - just because you miss a shot against an unranked played doesn't mean you have to bend over double in disgust, and spend 30 seconds gesticulating, as though how is it possible that you could miss a shot against such a player....

Lily takes the decider 6-4. I was just about to load a betting stream and she converted match point.

She's having a fab grass season as well.

She's a 19 year old young lady, not a performing monkey. Emma needs to do nothing other than what makes her happy and I do not blame her nor criticise her for cashing in on that fabulous run.  She took us all along with her and it was fantastic, if she never lifts another trophy in her life, she will still have achieved more than 99.999% of tennis players.
