Katie has lost the second set 0-6.
I fear her right arm is bothering her again - she is definitely feeling it at the change overs.

Great work Harriet! I only saw part of the 2nd set yesterday, but some blistering rallies. Hardest I've ever seen her hitting the ball.

Is this the most successful grasscourt season ever? Can't remember so many players winning. Harriet, Katie B, Katie S, Jodie, Sonay and several others with notable but maybe not quite as notable runs. Very encouraging! Then obviously the heroics of Ryan on the men's side, with some great stuff from Andy / Paul / Liam / Jay too.

That hold from Katie B for 5-5 was GUTSY! Especially the point at 30-30. Really encouraging stuff regardless of the result.

A great effort by Katie .

It was a very tough draw and she deserved something a bit easier after beating the no 4.

I do have a soft spot though for Petra given all shes been through.

If Petra wasn't playing a Brit I'd definitely have been rooitng for her.
Good fight from KB though.
Jodie up next and Harriet is back on court now too.

Apols if this has already been mentioned, but noted that the commentator on Prime mentioned that Jodie started working with a new coach 6 weeks ago. Could be coincidental but potentially a factor in her improved mindset etc?

Prior to the grass-court season she was losing on clay to players ranked around 200-300 (eg Rome W60 she lost to Di Guiseppi WR272 in the first round). I'm sure it is not a coincidence, but the change of coach and surface has worked miracles and she is starting to realise her potential. She also seems much more mature in her inteviews. It's all about confidence !

I wasn't concentrating properly as I am watching Harriet at the same time. Did they say Jodie's coach was Craig Beale ? (Definitely Craig ....)

Thanks. It looks like he started working with her at the end of March.

Jodie finding it tough going against Haddad Maia, unfortunately. Fairly relentless hitting from the Brazilian and few more errors creeping into Jodie's game.

Burrage GBR 1-6 *1-3 Haddad Maia BRA

...but Harriet is a set up, and now back on serve in the second set:

Dart GBR 6-4 *1-2 Kostyuk

Very routine win for Haddad Maia in the end - but what a great tournament and grass season for Jodie.

The occasional good shot from Jodie, in amongst a huge number of careless errors. Haddad Maia impressive.

Harriet dropped the second set after her brief rally, but has an early advantage in the decider...

Dart GBR 6-4 2-6 2-0* Kostyuk UKR

He certainly seems to have beefed up her results. Maybe her calves have got stronger?
