Jodie did it 6-4, 6-3.

What a fantastic, sensational win.
What is in the water of GB tennis players right now.

Heather will now find herself GB number 4 at best on leaving the grass, unfortunately. Hoping for a nice hard court season for her.

Going to be pretty close unless Katie progresses further. The three live rankings sites don't agree at the moment on the number of points each has, and Katie is dropping more from Wimbledon than Heather.

Yes, I agree with the live-tennis site which has Katie B currently GB #3 on 557 points ( at the last 16 stage ) and Heather #4 on 541 points.

So, if Katie doesn't get another win here, Heather will move back ahead of her once the Wimbledon 2021 points come off.

And up to date live GB #5 - Jodie live 142 on 442 points.

This day is just insane!!!

Badosa could, I feel, learn a thing or two from Casper Ruud in how to lose graciously to a Brit in the UK.

Harriet missing more break points. She's had all the opportunities and more she could have asked for to get this done.

*4-4

The second ****ty handshake in a few hours. Why bother shaking hands at all? might as well just slap each other

Thrilled for Jodie, what a pleasure to see her playing so calmly and confidently. Paula was all over the place, but that was of course in part because of the pressure Jodie was exerting.

On the other court, an incredible fight from Harriet; she has a very different proposition - an opponent playing well, making her fight for literally every point. She's doing so well.

Jodie may go as high as 141, and Harriet may be back in the top 100 if she can sneak this.

4 points missed for 5-2*, 4 missed for *5-3, 1 missed for 5-4*

4-5*

Gah.

Some women professional tennis players need to have a look at themselves.

I do think the men overall are more gracious and accepting of how the sporting contest plays out.

Agree and Casper was a great example that was pointed out

Shameful to not be gracious in defeat at the net. Badosa may be feeling pi**ed off that she has lost a match that probably nobody expected her to lose. But that does not excuse bad manners at the net. The way some players barely look at their opponent and hardly touch the hand, let alone shake is rude.
