Katie missed 7 break points in the first set - 2 or 3 in every game. Looks much closer than the score line suggests, is she really being destroyed?

I'd say so. set took only 26 minutes. Doing  better now though.

I'd say not. She had at least two break points on each of Ms Pliskova's service games, so she was three shots away from 3-all in 26 minutes. Hardly destruction. Just another illustration of the iniquity/ beauty of the tennis scoring system. Two very evenly matched players playing to pretty much the same level, and the score looks to the casual observer like a massacre.

Well I was only watching on TV which isn't the same as being there but I'd say she was comprehensively out played in the first set including losing her serve to love in one game.

Now though it is a different match. Katie has raised her level a lot, specially on serve which was poor in the first set, and Pliskova's level has dropped. Could go either way but I'd actually say Katie is slight favourite right now especially if the crowd really get behind her.

Good to se her doing well anyway.

4 double faults in a row from Pliskova!

She is falling apart here. Amazing turn around.

Big win for Katie. The final set was up and down. Twice Katie was up by a break only to lose it straight away. Pliskova with 4 dfs to lose her serve to love early in the set. Katie ran out of challenges. Anyway, got there in the end. Lots of super forehands. Pliskova played some good tennis at times.

Well done Katie! Pliskova wasn't impressive today, but some great play from Katie. Also, it's great to see her without some form of strapping.

Wow, well done Katie!

Could be a third consecutive Czech in Kvitova next!

Heather will now find herself GB number 4 at best on leaving the grass, unfortunately. Hoping for a nice hard court season for her.

I was thinking the same thing (strapping) it must be at least 2 years?

Harriet was moved on to another court, and is *1-2. Jodie-Paula still not started, and almost certainly won't get finished tonight. It could help Jodie if they don't get on with her playing 7 matches in 7 days, but will mean 2 matches tomorrow with the no margin schedule. It's pretty poor really - they know play will finish around 8pm, and there's been other courts free for ages.
