That's 4 WTA points for Ranah? (And the others of course?)

Indeedee. Probably enough to take Anna into the top 500 for the first time.

Maia lost the first set to Radwanska 6-4, but is an early break up in the second.

Maia won the second set 6-2 and is now in a MTB to decide the encounter.

Nervy errors from both so far but some great play from Maia in this match.

Lumsden 4-6 6-2 0-0 (*3-3) Radwanska

What a great job Maia did in that MTB

Some super play, some real duff shots, but she was SO focused - really pleased for her

And she rounds it out with an excellent forehand winner. Great stuff.

Anna Brogan has started very well - and her young opponent also looks really, really uncomfortable on the grass - is looking at her feet half the time, taking far too long in her preparation, as though she's scared of falling

Ranah v Naiktha is a quirky match, quite enjoying it, I would say Ranah has had fractionally the better of play so far but it's very close, very different pluses and minuses

Ranah and Naiktha are into a TB - which is a fair reflection of the set - and Naiktha did very well not to let a really dodgy linecall upset her too much....

Well done Anna. Was worried she was going to let that set slip away from a break up but she played a good return game there. CD is right, her opponent looks a bit lost on the green stuff. Doesn't trust her footwork.

Naiktha deserved the tie-break - the more aggressive player, and attacked the second serve well

She won it 7-6(4)

But is now 0-3 down in the second

Anna's match was quite drawn out and very up and down, but Anna took the first set 6-4, again deserved IMO

Ranah runs out the winner in a MTB - the bigger game won out with some positive play in the second set and TB.

Naiktha did better at the net and on the backhand and attacking the second serve.
But Ranah won on serve and forehand
Very pleased for ::))
Main draw. Six points. Good grass court practice. She has a lot of things to improve to, it's encouraging. She's always been a slightly different player, great job

Only saw the end of this, but great win for Anna amid some very apparent nerves at the end.

Brogan GBR d. Kalieva USA 6-4 2-6 (10-8)

Well done girls. Pleased to see Ranah taking that one, a girl like Naiktha is a good target to measure where she is in her progress. And lovely for Anna to get that one done too. A successful day!
