Shame. Lots of points on offer for that match relative to Jodie's normal level. I was only able to watch a few games towards the end of the first set then 5 or 6 points in the 2nd and 3rd. Looked like there was a good crowd cheering mainly for Jodie.
If only Jodie could play like this most weeks she could really move up the rankings.
Maybe this will be the start of something? Her wins this week were all in straights, given her record I'd have felt more optimistic about the future if she'd won a couple of tight 3 setters. But hey, a good bump up the rankings this week and should have been a confidence booster. Time will tell if she can build on it.

Over the last 2/3 years I probably followed Jodie and Emma more than any of the other British women as I thought they had the potential to be top 100 players which Emma has subsequently proven. I still think that Jodie has the potential to go much higher than the current 169 ranking. The issue has been that she, for whatever reason has struggled to get consistent results especially over 3 sets and has had times when she gets so critical of herself on court that she loses to players she really should be beating. The last few weeks have shown how good she can be and its wonderful to see what seems a new mindset on court. Long may it continue.
