And then Naiktha rather bottled it..... that point when they were 7-6 up, tons of chances to intercept, she kept going for it, and then pulling back, she HAD to be brave on that point
But an enjoyable match and a very good run for the British girls
Ach not to be. After winning two very close MTBs this week can't take the third.
6-7(7) 6-0 11-9 to the winners. Great match though.
Naiktha entered Wimbledon with Freya, Maia didn't enter at all. Wonder if that will change in the final wild cards? Or maybe they had to win today or are still seen as too low ranked (they didn't face anyone in the top 130 this week either but I don't think that would factor into the final decision).

Jack Sock's match finished about 10 mins ago, so Jodie vs Sonay should be starting soon on centre. The other women's SF has just about to go into a decider, with Volynets keeping her MDWC hopes alive by taking the second.
Jodie's going to have to be very patient and work hard for this today because Sonay makes you play so many shots. I hope she can do it as feel she needs the win more.
Sonay is actually my favourite, but I'm pretty confident she's on the right trajectory and will continue to improve her ranking regardless of today's result, whereas I feel Jodie probably needs to win this if she is to make the breakthrough we've all been waiting for. At the end of the day after all, we want them all to do well.

Of course , agreed. Im not anti Jodie at all, just not very invested and find her as I said above! But glad shes been playing well though !
Well done Jodie, think thats the best result all round, she will have a good chance against Galfi as well tomorrow. A potential top 150 spot up for grabs as well.
