At match point to Sonay I was about to post about the interesting R2 line-up in prospect between Sonay and Lily when the match suddenly did a 180 degree turn and Arianne raced away with the 2nd set. cry

I agree, Paul - for a fourteen year-old, Mimi's playing amazingly well against a class player, and the score could easily have been 4-6

Sonay seemed to be playing the clock down, which doesn't work, and might be nerves/experience at this level

Great character after being broken in the opening game.

Mimi lost 6-2 6-2 but it was by no means a drubbing, could easily have been a 4 and 3 type score. Hope she enjoys her run out in Qualies next week.

A good first set from Jodie. Takes it 6-3.

Maia is battling hard but not able to take any of these games going to deuce. Just missed 6 break points to go down *2-5

Jodie takes first set 6-3. Serving well, quite a few aces. Rodionova hasnt settled into a rhythm yet and Jodie is doing nothing special but looking more attuned to the grass.

Jodie is making way too many errors off her second shot (altough Rodionova is doing well to get many of her returns central and deep onto the brown stuff). After breaking for *2-1 she has a shocker, but saves more break points to steady the ship.
