Not a lot between the pairs, fine margins as usual. H & M seem to be targeting the net player quite a bit - botth players have been tagged a couple of times.
Could still go either way.
Was hoping to go down and spectate today, as I have every year since 2009 (bar 2020 of course) but just returned from a weekend in Galway yesterday and feel too knackered.com to drive. Plus the fact of only one British player being in singles action didn't motivate me either. Never mind. Just watching Harriet on Prime.
Brilliant consist from Harriet, nothing special but always enough, regrouped 0-30 down with some big serves. A lot of confidence going into a possible Halep R2

Much as I hate to say it, I think that Ms Dart will require more than confidence in the next round.
Great tie break from Ali & Em - not bad to take a set off a pair with 6 grand slam semis and 35 WTA titles between them! Ali particularly did well - nice touch at the net, and good returning.
One of their opponents got clipped in the face by a ball flying off the net cord at 2-6 down in the tiebreak, and is receiving treatment.
Edit: not to be in the MTB, they go down 4-10. Good effort. I think Ali could make a lot of progress up the doubles rankings on this form.

Their opponents really found a new gear midway through the breaker. Shame about the ill-tempered and slightly immature end from Ali, but a lot of pressure and she will have wanted it very badly I know.
Some good doubles, although Ali does need to work on some techniques for channeling these emotions. They tend to see her come unwound rather than being funneled into something more positive. Although I appreciate it probably appears more noticeable because Emily is so calm!
A great effort, lots to reflect and work on to keep getting better. Nice job, both have a fair bit of potential, but Ali particularly so I think.

Harriet's win against Camila yesterday came under sad circumstances as sadly, Camila's grandfather, Columbian footballer Rolando Serrano, passed away yesterday.
