The doubles MD is out, featuring Emily/Ali, Sam/Vivian, Lissey/Liv and Beth/Harriet.

Emily+ and Lissey+ have both drawn seeds, due to play Tuesday.

Personally I'd like to see Emily App and perhaps Lissey in the WC playoff, which I suspect may end up being possible.

Anyone know why Katie B was on the OOP for 10am tomorrow v. Riske and now it's suddenly vanished and play's starting at 11 instead??

Presumably Alison asked for a Tuesday start giving she was playing today. Doubt it's anything sinister.

I reckon a good call. The TNNS App has it on Tuesday's schedule.

Often the TNNS app shows all potential matches starting at 10am for any given day and then it changes once the OOP is released. Also as the others have said, Riske would be unlikely to be asked to play on Monday as she was in the Nottingham final today and a day off in those circumstances is usually granted.

Doubles draw (rankings as at 06 June)

L16:- Monica Niculescu (ROU) / Elena-Gabriela Ruse (ROU) CR95 (39+56) v Vivian Heisen (GER) / Samantha Murray Sharan (GBR) CR171 (82+89)

L16:- Shuko Aoyama (JPN) / Hao-Ching Chan (TPE) CR63 (10+53) [4] v Emily Appleton (GBR) / Ali Collins (GBR) CR613 (283+330)

L16:- Katarzyna Kawa (POL) / Katarzyna Piter (POL) CR157 (81+76) v Harriet Dart (GBR) / Sarah Beth Grey (GBR) CR329 (164+165) [WC]
L16:- Alicia Barnett (GBR) / Olivia Nicholls (GBR) CR209 (100+109) v Lucie Hradecka (CZE) / Sania Mirza (IND) CR41 (18+23) [3]

Prize money and points
L16:- 1 point and $1,800
QF:- 69 points and $2,350
SF:- 119 points and $ 3,950
F:- 180 points and $ 6,700
W:- 280 points and $12,000

I'm curious why Beth and Harriet needed a wildcard but Emily and Ali didn't. Perhaps the WTA PDF draw is wrong !!

Another tough draw for Lissey and Liv.

Presumably they weren't entered as a pair, Harriet would have been entered with Heather but Surbiton put paid to that and she must have repaired with SBG and therefore needed a WC.

I get the repairing, and possibly hence the combined raning didn't get them in, but it was Emily and Ali that caught my eye.

According to darts rankings, Beth was second alt with Lily, and Emily and Ali where third alts. So Beth and Lily must have withdrawn, Beth and Harriet needed a wildcard following that and Emily and Ali moved to second alts and got in as alts. That is my reading of it but just as a layman!

Yes, that's right. By not using one of the wildcard spots it let Ali and Emily in by right, rather than having to award them one. Much of a muchness really.

Today's schedule seems to have been designed to allow Lissey and Emily, and technically Sam too I suppose, to get to pre qualies if they lose. Makes sense.

As far as I can tell, all the advance entries are playing so as I understand it Ali/Emily would need to have signed in as an on site entry, which uses best of singles/doubles rankings. Unused WCs go to the next on site entry I believe, not an advance entry alt. This suggests to me that there were 4 on site entries, with Ali/Emily being the next in and use the space for the unused WC, and Beth/Harriet was a late formed partnership to fill the draw with the WC that was presumably meant for Ali/Emily. That said, I do find it hard to accept that there were no other on site entries.

All interesting theories, but I still think that the WTA draw PDF might be wrong and Emily and Ali did need a WC to get in.

The three on-site entries were Halep/Vecic, Mcnally/Davis and Linette/Juvan and have a lowest combined entry ranking of around 126. I find it hard to believe that no-one else entered on-sitewith a higher CR that Emily and Ali and the wildcard wasn't needed.

Would any one like my centre court ticket for tomorrow? I'm not able to go now. I don't wan't want my money back but would appreciate a donation to Phone Credit for Refugees which can be found on Facebook of £10 at least please.

Private message me if interested. I think it's a courtside seat (Row A Block 15) near where the players sit.
