Tight opening sets but Freya loses hers 6-4 and Katie hers 7-5

Freya levels the match taking the second set 6-3

Freya took the second 6-3 with a footfault from her opponent.
She was doing really well (83% behind her first serve), but first serve fell apart in the first game of the third and she's broken, getting frustrated.
If she can make it through, it will be her third highest current scorer.

Rain delay at Bham comes at the wrong time for Emily App - Tsurenko was looking a bit of a mess (her first match on grass), and Emily had just served a blinding service game to get back on serve at 3-2 having been at 0-2.

Side note - if there's any suggestion of a Ukrainian wildcard to Wimbledon, it should surely go to Tsurenko. She has battled through qualies at the AO and RG this year, to be faced with Barty and Swiatek in R1 (winning 3 games in total)!

I didn't watch the match, just saw the score tick over (very erratically on the WTA/ATP app). Swan battled back into contention in both sets, and the overall stats suggest it was a fairly close match. It was quite a tough ask, drawing Vekic in Q1. Is that it now, before Wimbledon, or will Swan get another match in before then?

Probably should have gone to Ilkley instead. A QWC for Eastbourne perhaps?

And Eden serves it out 6-4 in the third :)

I thought she did really well today; Kawa was playing pretty well, and it was very back and forth, but Eden was very positive on big points, and went for her shots.

Unfortunately she will have to face Coco next, but at least she has covered last year's points here.
