Other events, 2022 - week 23

Erin Pearce won the J5 in Wrexham a few weeks back.

She's now in South Africa, in a J4, and has come through qualis very easily, and then won two rounds, also quite easily, and is into the QFs. Where, however, she'll now have to play the top seed

Canada, J5:

Gabriella Rawles won in R1

Mexico, J3:

Phoenix Weir is top seed here. Somewhat strange that he's gone all the way to Mexico when he's down to play the J1 in Nottingham in 10 days time..... I realise that we can't all save the planet, every minute of the day, but that's a big trip just for one event, assuming he's still intending to come back for the grass court season

Poland, J3:

Fabio Nestola is in the draw here, on clay (also a slightly strange choice as he's in the ALTs for Nottingham and must be assured as least a quali wildcard)

Millie Skelton and Hannah Rylatt (who came through three rounds of qualis) are also in the MD here

South Africa, J4:

Erin Pearce+ takes the dubs final VERY easily

AND the + might be worthy of another too

Marelie Raath was listed as RSA earlier this week (indeed, even yesterday)

But her flag has just changed to GBR

Now she's still RSA on the ITF site but I know/believe she's based in Herts so it's well possible that she's changed....
