Hard to know what to make of this Katie performance. It's all a bit sluggish but it is her second match back. Inglis not exactly got much grass prowess but doing enough.

3-6 *3-2
Yes, it's not inspired, but Katie looking very happy with the challenge - I thought she played better in the second, which put pressure on Inglis
Good win to grind out. Although worrying that after just one match her arm is back to being fully strapped. Worried how it's going to hold up after that one.

Feel for Beth, but pleased for Eden; before Nottingham 4 in May, she'd not come back from a set down to win a proper three setter since Feb '21; now she's done it 4 times in her last 3 tournaments. She's also already exceeded her wins for the whole of 2021 in 2022 (as has Heather, incidentally!).
Eden gets the lowest ranked player, Marino (WR 109), a great test for her.
Lily gets Frech (WR 92)
Katie gets Maria (WR 106), who as we've seen is dangerous on grass.
Definitely not draws to be complained about, given that other qualifiers got Zhang and Riske - should be great experiences all round :)
