Q2:GREY, Sarah Beth (GBR) 314 (CH=304 2022) v SILVA, Eden (GBR) 349 =CH
They played in 2014 with Sarah winning in two and in 2019 withEden winning in three.
Q2: MIYAZAKI, Yuriko Lily (GBR) 244 (CH=199 2022) v SHARMA, Astra (AUS) (2) 124 (CH=84 2022)
They played last year with Lily winning by retirement at the start of the third set.
Now scheduled for 1:15. Iwonder when they'll switch to indoors.
One would imagine theyll maybe put the mens indoors first, given women started on grass yesterday and Im sure theyd like to continue. I might be wrong but also as their are 12 mens matches today it would seem to make sense
I would imagine it would be very hard to move a whole slug of matches indoors on a Sunday.
It doesn't seem to me at all fair to kick off all the people who'd booked for Sunday, or the events or whatever that have been planned on those indoor courts.
More selfishly, I also hope they don't move them because I think our players (overall) have more chance on grass (especially the R1 matches, actually, for the women, more than the quali ones).
Also, the rest of the week seems pretty set fair so they should be able to catch up quite easily.
However, if they do move some indoors, yes, I agree, the men seem more likely, mainly because they're up later.
Organisers chose to accept 5 doubles teams onsite and not use the two available wildcards. Argh, why?! Sam/Heisen and Liv/Lissey made the advanced entry cut. Heather/Harriet got in on-site.
Sam/Vivien play Harriet and Heather. Liv and Lissey have a super draw against Kawa/Sutjiadi.
Disappointing not to give another British pair an opportunity... Beth and Emily were both defending 60 points from last year, for example. Or even let Isabelle and Hep have a swing. What are Frech/Martincova really bringing to the table here.
