Emma does seem fragile, even more so than Laura Robson who was the new sensation of British tennis for a few years before succumbing to injuries. Emma had success last year after several lower level tournaments and qualifying tournaments. That gave her plenty of time to build her body up to the take the strain of playing higher ranked players. I suspected last year that the high ranking resulting from the US Open might hold her tennis back for a year and that does seem to be the case. If she drops down the rankings after the US open she can build back next year at a more natural rate, allowing her body to adjust to the demands of top level tennis. I don't know who she has in her team but a really good fitness coach might help.
The odds on Emma having a poor fitness coach at the moment are pretty remote !. Not sure about this injury but the others have been fairly minor ones, nothing long term months on end type thing. Did feel sorry for the crowd who attended today. Disappointing
With the absence of any ranking points on offer at Wimbledon this year I'd question whether it was worth her turning up, although as has been suggested there may be pressure from above on her to do so.
Yay! Well done Katie - a good win. Almost covered last years points.
And 5 into the last 16 - surely that must be some sort of record, at least in recent times.

5 into the last 16 and NOT the top ranked player as well!

Not worth turning up ??
Well, if she's properly fit come Wimbledon ie not having doubts re niggles, it surely is. At this stage ranking points should mean less to her anyway than many players ( indeed although I am not so sure about this, many would like to see her ranking soon fall a good bit so she plays lesser tournaments and builds from there ).
She of course remains an extremely good young player with great prospects for the future and further Wimbledon experience would be good for her. So I just wouldn't get not turning up if ready to go, as opposed to being pushed into going.
I saw most the first set and then bits of the second set of Sonays match against the next Mrs Jaggy . She wasnt far away from the level of Camila and at this stage in her career its a good learning curve. Wouldnt be surprised to see her win a couple rounds at Wimbledon depending on her draw.
So those five players still in the draw have covered or increased their points from last year, apart from Katie who needs one more win.
Emma also matched her one point from last year, and it is a shame that she succumbed to another injury and couldn't progress.
