Lily is shown in the draw with a Japanese flag but if you click it it shows her with a GB flag. The WTA site really is bonkers. confuse.gif

Disappointingly, (I was going to go to watch her in qualies) Jeanjean got a main draw wild card in s-Hertogenbosch, but great for her.

1 qWC unused. Surely, they must have been someone who wanted to play?

According to Darts, Freya Hep and Ella took the three QWC's available.

Sakkari has swooped in as top seed on a wild card. Thats good, takes the pressure of being top seed off Emma and Sakkari is good to watch also.

Reason for not awarding the 4th wildcard I think was that the first person out at sign-in close was Eden, so by not awarding a wildcard (to her) she gets in as a direct acceptance. Makes no real difference but in theory Eden avoids using up one of her WTA wildcard allowance.

I'm really surprised Katie B didn't get a MDWC here given her Nottingham, connections. I can only assume that she thinks playing quails will give her more match player which she probably needs given how little she's played of late.

Just glad to see her back on a list, hope she can string 2 or more tournaments together  especially as it's the grass season.

So, from the drawsheet, each player in QR1 who loses gets 1 WTA point and $1200?

That's a lot of money, and will certainly be a welcome point for the two youngsters.

ADD: But, as per Indy below, I'm not sure it's really warranted (the point, that is)

I do much prefer the ATP rankings way here, in that apart from direct entries to mandatory MDs ( as opposed to WCs ) players actually have to win at least one match to get any points.

And the potential for more points - she cant replace her 70 off from Wimby last year.
