The period between taking the covers off and getting the players back on was very slow. I know they still need a bit of airing and various checks have to be done before they can resume but they did miss a window for 20mins or so play there on the covered courts (the uncovered ones will be pretty sodden).
asked this on the mens, but does Surbiton have indoor options if they needed them? Maybe to finish off qualies? Or later in the week if they needed them, say for the doubles?
Don't believe so. Think during the winter they pop a bubble up but no indoor courts. I assume the backup in case of a weeks washout, which doesn't look likely, would be to drive up the road to NTA.
No indoor courts at Surbiton and can't see anywhere nearer than Wimbledon on Google aerial view (4 miles as Rufus The Hawk flies) - or the NTA as madadman says which is almost as close.

Surbiton Trophy 1 hr · Due to continual showers and court conditions play is suspended for the day. Qualifying matches have been moved to be completed indoors. Hopefully the weather will be kinder to us tomorrow, order off play will be released this evening.
Bolkvadze is on a 9 match losing streak, including some very poor results in the Fed Cup zonals. Would have given Eden a shout against her but suspect it's way too early for Isabelle at that level, but fingers crossed she can give it a good go.
The order of play is now on the ITF website. 16 singles matches and just one doubles. There were several doubles matches scheduled for today, so going to be a long wait for some of the players.
Hoping the weather will be kind tomorrow as I would like to see Sonay play live for the first time. Will also see some of the other GB women depending on how the play pans out as well as the guys on Centre.
Will update if the phone holds out!
