Naiktha loses 6-3 6-4. Lovely to see Sabine back though.
Indeed. I found myself in the unusual position of supporting a German over a Yorkshirewoman in that match. After all her injury problems, I would love to see Ms. Lisiki have a good grass court season.
I was the same as well Ive always like Lisicki so great to see her back.
EWS' opponent is listed as ambidextrous and with a preferred surface of 'sand', which is a combination I have never seen before!
From distant memories of French cricket on the beach at Ainsdale, sand is not the most rigid of surfaces, prone to low bounce especially when the sun is out. Other possible surfaces spring to mind, quick sand, coral, tar pit, tarmac, lily pad, powder snow, grid iron, etc.
She is now 4-0, looks very comfortable on the grass. Isabelle attends Surbiton High School and Surbiton is her local club so I would think had had plenty of opportunity for training on the grass both here and at the NTC.
