She is taking a few days to rest from physical activity and is aiming to take a WC for Eastbourne

Really don't like this thing of not entering and then taking wildcards, whatever the circumstances. Enter everything you might possibly want to play, then withdraw; this is unfair on others.

In fairness isn't there wild cards set aside for top 20 players only on the WTA?

Ryan and Paul are both withdrawn from Ilkley qualies. Presumably expecting a Queens wildcard of one sort or another?

Murray could potentially get an SE for next week. Freeing up a wildcard for Queens

On the ITF Ilkley tournament webpage, Swan is now showing as PFLWQD (Penalty Free Late Withdrawal Qualifying Draw). There's now a whole host of Brit's vying for a place in the qualifying draw.

Wouldn't he only be eligible for that if he was entered into the qualifying event?

PF stands for post freeze. Any penalties that are applicable would still be applied.

No he is on the entry list.

The Liverpool International tournament is taking place on 16th to 18th June (grand title for a small event !). Beth Gray is taking part this year, as is Marcus Willis.

For the main draw he is but not the qualifying draw. A SE is normally given if you can't compete in the qualifying draw you've entered.

It is a funny old event , Liverpool, isnt it - no really stellar players although in the past they have had some decent names breeze through it

It has been going for some years though

 Fair enough, I stand corrected.
