I'd have a couple of SFs and then hopefully a really strong final list, yes as long as Jon doesn't put all who I condider really strong contenders in the same SF
This is the last week isn't it. Next week is the start of July PoM?
Inteteresting. I don't personally like the idea of splitting the men, women and doubles, and most particularly not doubles - let doubles achievements stand against singles and the vote reflect both achievements and how some folk weigh doubles vs singles ( and arguably, as has occasionally been suggested, the men's vs women's game ). Mix it up and no pass for the winner of any sub category.
I can honestly say there are 6 of the listed contenders I could vote for and confidently argue they are player of the month. Its going to be very interesting - 3 of the males nominations and 3 of the women.
Im tempted to do 2 rounds of voting to sift it to a manageable list. Two semis and a final. Thoughts welcomed
This brings us back to me and my multiple personas!
Not sure having two semis before a final - Id say there are probably 5 or 6 that are standing out from the rest (not decrying the achievements of the others in any way) and if they all ended up in a loaded one, that would cause even more difficulties.
Maybe as a one off, we could allow manual adjustments I.e. everyone gets one vote in the usual way and then are allowed an additional one (or max 2) via commenting on the thread. Id be happy to help with the collation of that if that would help?
I know this takes away the anonymous votes aspect (but you can see the state of play of the votes anyway if you are logged out when you look at the page) but ultimately we are aiming to end up with a worthy winner as well as the best top three to reflect the excellent play this month. The danger with so many contenders is that the number of votes per nomination will either end up being very low or distorted.
Just some thoughts - feel free to ignore my ramblings!
Main thing is to not overcomplicate it guys and some of these great ideas complicate it.
Some may recall Im a past master at organising well balanced semis. So I will do that. Lets see how the numbers end (we have 14 so far, may get more?) and Ill go from there. I dont want to separate out genres , so Indy is more in line with
My thinking.
Thanks for the ideas though - Brittak, Ill save yours up for another day perhaps!
I'm not convinced that 2 rounds of voting will help - there are six I would vote for, and knowing you they would probably all be in the same semi
There are a few that have hardly featured or performed well so far this month that could add to the list as there are plenty of opportunities over the next couple of weeks, so the list will probably need to be split anyway.
The way the numbers are going it might be worth considering separate mens and womens polls.
Oi! I think Ive done a pretty decent job at mixing things in the past, trust me to seed it nicely.
this is the last week by the way as Wimbledon is largely July and so falls into next month. Votes will go up on this weekend.
Ah yes, forgot that next week doesn't count. The list must be almost complete then.
I think Cam could maybe get in with a win this week and maybe Jamie as well with a tournie win? Pretty much done though and players can add to their palmares of course !

Jack D's win over Schwartzman today is one worthy of a mention on his summary.

Don't worry, I am updating as we go. It is all a bit lengthy though!
So, Cam doesnt bother the voters this time; Jamie still in and Heather in doubles with Harriet. Given it is unlikely that anyone playing the ITF's this week or juniors is going to bother our nominations this month (please shout if you feel there is someone), then I am keeping an eye out on Harriet, Jack and Ryan - when the last of them is done this week, I will finalise the semis groups and post the semis polls. It will either run Friday through to Sunday for the two rounds or Saturday to Monday, depending on who is in still etc
It seems we have a few players still in the odd ITF event around the world, plus Will Jansen in ITF J1 Junior action- will need to see how things pan out in those before determining the voting timetable. Im hoping, without wish losses on our players, that we can still go with semis votes going up Saturday night and the final Sunday night. Lets see.
