Yes, the depth of ineptitude. Though pleased at least to see Kasatkina through.

May the youngsters shine.

I like Kasatkinas game . Its nice to watch and she does at least have some variation .

Giorgi has one plan and that is to hit the ball as hard as possible and the same with Keys . Im hoping well get a Fernandez v Gauff semi final .

I like Kasatkina's game but I find it hard to believe she'll win anything big with that puffball serve. I'd like Sloane to win now.from all those that are left. I'm hoping/sure that Wimbledon will be a much stronger tournament

Some moaning apparently that only one womens match was scheduled for the night session .

Given the mostly dreadful quality in the womens draw political correctness only goes so far . Todays first semi has been woeful so far .

The crowd , the few who actually turned up deserve a medal for putting up with such a dire match , theres zero atmosphere and really the WTA is in a desperate state at the moment .

The Roland Garros organizers are probably praying that at least the final ends up Swiatek v Gauff which at least would be interesting .

At least Kudermetova vs Kasatkina is a QF rather a than a SF.

Kasatkina served for it at *5-4 in the second set but one of the many breaks of service followed. She currently leads 6-4 *5-6

Kasatkina scrapes through .

Dreadful match . How someone with such a slow serve manages to get to a GS semi is truly a sad indictment on womens tennis .

Serena could beat most of the current top 100 playing on one leg .

She was always complaining about some injury in case/when she lost.

Martina Trevisan is the 8th Italian woman to reach the  singles semi finals of a Grand Slam tournament.

Whatever, Serena was still was a really great champion just based on her tennis. Far from my favourite but I recognise that she was a class apart from most of the supposedly top players around just now.

Kasatkina's average 2nd serve speed was 34 mph. That's truly shocking

And that will indeed be the final.

Swiatek beat Kasatkina 6-2 6-1 and Gauff beat Trevisan 6-3 6-1

There must be huge relief for the organizers of Roland Garros that the final will be at least an interesting match up on paper and that relief will also be shared by the broadcasters .

Hopefully it will be a good match and go to three sets and can save whats been a pretty underwhelming tournament on the womens side .

Pretty amazing that, at age 18, Coco Gauff has made the finals at Roland Garros in both singles and doubles.

I was looking forward to watching the ladies legends final today as it features one of my favourite all time players, Gabriela Sabatini, but Eurosport doesn't seem to be covering it, instead showing annoying montages across its 20 channels. I've been really unimpressed with Eurosports coverage and will certainly not be continuing with the subscription.

As a side note, how can Sabatini still look like she's in her 30s at 52?!
