Do we know yet which days our girls are likely to be playing? I did see some comments on this board somewhere, but BET365 have them all down for Tuesday currently !!

Trevisan had a surprise run here to the quarters in the October 2020 edition. Struggled a little to back it up but is going for a title in Rabat. Think Harriet will find it a tricky one (would have rather she drew a seed here and a lower ranked player at Wimbledon than the other way round!).

Elsa is a bit of a banana skin given Heather's up and down performances. I think Noskova could cause Emma some issues.

Trevisan has had an easy win in  Rabat. If Emma could manage a win she would become the only active British woman to have won  a singles match at all 4 Slams. In the 21st century. Only the late Elena Baltacha and Jo Konta have won a singles match at all 4 Slams in the 21st century..

Let's hope that Heather can join that group by winning a match at the USO later this year.

They will be scheduled to play on Monday (weather forecast not brilliant so possibility of carryover to Tuesday), as several matches in their quarter of the draw are on tomorrow's schedule

I already have Eurosport 1 and 2, and just signed up to D+ for a month yesterday as I usually do for slams, but didn't realise (or at least forgot) that ITV4 had now lost their rights. That's a shame. Now they will obviously often show the same match that ES 1 or 2 did, especially if a big name was playing, but there were occasions when there would often be 3 different matches on 3 different TV channels, and I still MUCH prefer watching on normal TV than on apps - easy to record, can switch channels quickly, no constant loading, guaranteed commentary etc. plus ITV4 is obviously much more widely available than a subscription channel, so the ratings will be affected a lot.

I do love the Sunday start.

Wow. I was watching the Jabeur-Linette match from the start until 6-4 4-3 40-0* when Linette was starting to look injured. I guess I should have at least waited until the end of that game (where Linette eventually held), but with how it was going, and Ons' current form, I switched over to the Stephens match on ES2. I typed in Linette into Google expecting to see 4-6 3-6, but she ended up winning the TB and had a couple of game points for 5-2* in the decider, but Jabeur has now just broken back for 4-3*, and back on serve. I was literally stunned when I saw the match still on going.

The first French Open ten point super tie break could occur if they hold from here, although it does look like it's raining heavily at the moment, so the roof will probably be out.

And Magda did it - put out Ons, seeded 6, on clay, in the first round !

As you say, Ace, a complete upset and a real interesting third set

Linette wins 4-6 7-6(4) 7-5. I'm genuinely stunned. I mean Linette is a decent player and has provided some good grand slam moments / matches in recent years, and there were easier R1 matches, but the way the match was going, and especially Ons winning Madrid and getting to the Rome final, I'm shocked. Many were predicting another Jabeur vs Swiatek final, and I'm pretty sure Ons was the 2nd favourite for the title (albeit well behind Iga).

No British interest in the doubles, but by my reckoning Tara and Emina are first alternates. They were second, and Garcia/Mladenovic are in the draw but needed the wildcard. So still a chance to get in, and they are on site.

Harriet on first tomorrow, Heather second, and Emma third (all on different courts).

I know the main draw is not the be all and end all but in terms of entries we're not doing that badly:

GBR - 3
Italy - 4
Spain - 4
Belgium - 5
Ukraine - 4
USA - 16
Can - 4
Aus - 3
Cze - 8
Russia - 10
China - 5
Germany - 5
Hungary - 4

Leaving aside USA (VERY big country), and France (their event), we're pretty much in there - and noting that the one that obviously is punching MILES above its weight is the Czech Republic.
